About Sandy

My love for cooking and agriculture eventually became my lifelong passion, which led me to where I am today.

I am proud to say that I am a developing Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Philanthropist, Fundraiser, Server, Real Estate Investor, and Advisor.

My Story

My name is Omadai (Sandy) Roberts. I was born and raised in Enmore Logwood, Guyana. I am the daughter of Elaine and Bilo/Tolaram. I have 5 siblings, Moses, Monica, Varone, Esha, and Zorine. I am a proud mom to Jon Roberts, and the widow of Michael Roberts. My religion is deemed Love, as ideally, my heart respects and supports all spirituality.

I attended Enmore Primary and Golden Grove School for a short period of time. However, due to financial hardships in our home and being the eldest child, I left my schooling to start selling various products to be able to provide for my family. As our finances started to improve, I found myself cooking and caring for the elders in our village, trailed by many families in need of food, shelter, and clothing.

My love for cooking and agriculture eventually became my lifelong passion, which led me to where I am today. I became immensely intrigued with learning about different herbs, trees, fruits, foods, fusion, and cultures. I enjoyed creating recipes and all the positivity that followed. I soon realized, through the art of cooking, there was an even deeper calling as I was essentially reconnecting families, building new friendships, and more importantly bringing smiles to faces.

Through the years, as the humanitarian side of me expanded, I met my husband/mentor, the late Michael Roberts, at a church event. We shared the same passion for philanthropy and started working together by serving as missionaries throughout Guyana, parts of the U.S. & throughout the world. With Mike’s guidance, collectively, we proudly served countless communities in need. We also have a wonderful and talented son together, Jon Roberts.

I arrived in the USA in 2001, with my husband. Shortly after, I attended Sunset International Bible Institute in Texas, which included cooking classes. Needless to say, I absorbed as much knowledge and experience as I could. I truly appreciate it to this day, every moment and opportunity to learn something new. Throughout the years, I worked different jobs to support myself & loved ones. I was able to acquire my first home here in beautiful Jupiter Florida.

A New Start

After Mike passed away, I honored his legacy by continuing to perform my humanitarian duties. Today, I am proud to say that I am a developing Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Philanthropist, Fundraiser, Server, Real Estate Investor and Advisor.

In this chapter of my life, I meet Tommy Magaldi who is my dear friend, partner in life & business. Our combined drive to achieve and expand our knowledge, learn from each other, and better serve our communities and clients. Tommy is also a wonderful friend to my son, Jon, who also has a desire instilled in him for cooking and inventing recipes. Thanks to working, cooking, traveling and long drives together, the idea for Sandy’s Backyard Kitchen/Garden was created.

Friends, I’m a strong believer in vibration of love and energy. I encourage everyone around the world, to lift each other up. We are very grateful to all of my family and fans for all the love and support of our show.

Please, continue the love by sharing your comments, suggestions & support towards Sandy’s Backyard Kitchen/Garden. It is an absolute honor and pleasure to bring my Kitchen to your Kitchen creating lasting memories!
